Back in November Geoff found out he was accepted to do an internship in Miami for Citi group's Latin American Division.
We enjoyed a yummy first Thanksgiving with the Tingey's in Washignton. (Camille could you send me some pictures from our visit? Somehow, I only came home with the following 2 shots.)
Grandpa Tingey had a calming affect like no other when he sang to baby Garrett at bedtime.
Garrett spent his days enthralled with Uncle Josh and his funny faces and sounds!
Then the wheels were put in motion and in a little over a month's time we...
found a furnished apartment in downtown Miami (pics on that later)
packed up all our stuff (thanks Rachelle, cami, curtis, buck, and niki, etc)
moved most of our stuff to storage in Provo (thanks Buck, Curtis, Logan, Zac, and new guy:) sorry we don't remember your name and totally wish we could)
cleaned out our old apartment that we loved (thanks Buck, Niki, Cami, Curtis, and the RS)
said goodbye to our neighbors that we love
said goodbye to our brothers and sisters that we are so thankful we lived by
said goodbye to the snow
somehow talked Buck into driving across country in the dead of winter in 2 days time with Geoff (and all of Garrett's gear piled to the top of our little SUV)
at the same time talked Niki into playing mommy #2 for 3 days and among other things claiming Garrett as her own on one of the two plane rides necessary to get us from UT to SC for Christmas
We celebrated a jolly first Christmas with the Bagwell's in South Carolina.
We stayed an extra 2 weeks with Ahbe and Papi while we waited for time to move to Miami. Thank you for your patient hospitality Mom and Dad. We loved being there.
On January 15th geoff started work and January 16th we moved into our apartment. (Yes, that does sound wrong. Let's just say it should have been that we moved in before he started work but suffice it to say Betsey and Garrett enjoyed the amenities at a Miami Holiday Inn for a day and half and we are all so happy to have a place to call home now.)
We think Miami is just as beautiful as it is busy and can't believe we wake up everymorning to see the sun sparkling on the bay and go to sleep every night gazing at the downtown highrises.
Finally, Happy Birthday to me! We had a picnic on South Beach this afternoon and are going out for dinner and ice cream tonight while Ahbe babysits.
